Ruben Dawnay is a chef and smoker born and raised in Brixton. Ruben’s Reubens is his homage to his Polish-Jewish heritage and started as a meal kit service during the Covid-19 lockdowns. Ruben has since made a name for himself as rising star in the London smoking scene with his smoked meats and cured fish. Ruben’s Reubens is now housed in Brixton’s own iconic Market Row.

I had the privilege to capture the first half hour of service on a busy Thursday evening, celebrating the launch of Ruben’s instantly-legendary Christmas smoked turkey reuben, made with Grey Poupon dijon mustard.
